Scan-to-CAD & Point Cloud Processing

Capturing a site is the easy part. Turning several hundred gigabytes of point cloud into drawings someone can work from is where projects stall. That conversion is what we do.

Scan-to-CAD & Point Cloud Processing field work
What we deliver

Concrete deliverables, not vague promises.

Point cloud processing

  • Registration, alignment and georeferencing of multi-scan datasets
  • Noise removal, decimation and classification
  • Photogrammetry processing from drone imagery
  • Cleaned, delivered cloud in E57, RCP/RCS, LAS or LAZ

2D deliverables

  • Existing-condition floor plans, elevations and sections
  • Site plans and topographic drawings
  • Reflected ceiling plans and service routing drawings
  • Deviation and verification drawings against design intent

3D deliverables

  • Revit models of existing conditions at defined LOD
  • Surface models, DTMs and TINs
  • Stockpile, excavation and cut/fill volume calculations
  • Clash-ready models for coordination with new design
What you send us

Raw scan files from any terrestrial scanner, drone imagery, or an already-registered cloud that needs converting. If you're not sure whether the capture is adequate for the deliverable you want, send a sample and we'll tell you before you commit to the full dataset.

Codes & standards

Model detail is specified against the BIMForum Level of Development specification, and we agree the target LOD explicitly at scoping: the gap between LOD 200 and LOD 350 is the single largest driver of cost on this service.

How it works

Full service engineering design. Delivered remotely.

  1. 01

    Start with a bounded request

Send what you have — sketches, GIS/CAD files, pole data, spreadsheets. A named engineer reviews it and confirms a scoping timetable.

  2. 02

    Agree scope, standards & criteria

Work begins once a written SOW sets deliverables, assumptions, standards and who owns each engineering decision.

  3. 03

    Produce with visible controls

Assumptions, RFIs and progress are logged as they happen, not buried inside the drawing set.

  4. 04

    Independent QA & handoff

A second reviewer checks the package against the SOW before a revision-tracked transmittal ships.

Who this is for

Survey firms with capture capacity but a processing bottleneck

Architects and engineers working on retrofit and refurbishment

Contractors verifying installed work against design

Asset owners building a digital record of existing facilities

Common questions

Do you do the scanning?

No, we process what you or your survey partner captures. Staying out of capture means we work with any scanner, any surveyor, anywhere, without competing with the firms who send us work.

How large a dataset can you handle?

Size isn't the constraint; transfer is. We'll agree a transfer method at scoping: shipped drive, cloud transfer or client-hosted access all work.

What LOD do we need?

Usually lower than expected. Most retrofit coordination is served by LOD 200–300; LOD 350 and above costs substantially more and is only justified where fabrication or tight clash tolerance depends on it. We'll advise against over-specifying.

Have a scan-to-cad & point cloud processing project to scope?

A sketch, a photo, a spreadsheet: send what you have and we’ll take it from there.
